Pokmon Go’s first real-world event was a complete disaster – here’s what happened

Thousands of people arrived in Chicago on July 22, 2017 to catch some extremely rare Pokmon, but server and networking issues ruined the day. The first big live event for the popular augmented reality game didn’t exactly go as planned, with the festival goers screaming at the company to “fix the game” and booing the CEO John Hanke. Here’s what happened and what they did to make it up to players.
